Concept art for my master's project - computer game. The story is based on Bardo Thodol, with a little wink to Wiccan beliefs.
Done on amazing Wacom Cintiq HD in 1 day (app. 10 hours)
Edit: There's been some issues concerning my use of textures and brushes without pointing it in description, so here we go: I use free-licensed stocks as textures (such as GNU files on wikipedia, sxc.hu non-creditables etc.) and two brushes packs - one custom made by my friend and second one, the most popular pack on DA - [link] . I don't point textures or stocks in description unless they actually show up on the final picture - and here the ground, the little feathers and trunks are manually painted over and over. I shattered leaf/moss stocks, warped 'em, smudge 'em and overpainted them to make trees in the back. Similar job with the wing. I hope you get the idea
I merge layers throughout the proccess, create new ones and paint, merge, create new ones and paint (...) - finally I can't even rembember or distile any texture, grid or ref I used, even if you show me one, there's no way to tell it's here or not. And if I really should point every one of them out in description, that would be a whole lot of text.
I'll problably make a tutorial in the nearest future to show my creation pipeline and share it with ya.
